I'm Here

I made it to Norway! I had to run through a couple of airports like a mad woman but I made it!

I'm pointing to Norway (I think)

So my plane was delayed in Salt Lake City because they had to clean off bird parts. After half an hour we finally got on our way.  What kind of bird takes half an hour to clean up?!?! Anyway when we (the other girl going from USU and I) got to Chicago we were supposed to have an hour and half to get to our next connecting flight.  Well we had one hour and and we made it with five minutes to spare......Let me explain why.....

We had to go down the hallway with the two moving sidewalks up the escalator, down the moving sidewalk, down the escalator, through the psychedelic hallway with weird circus music and lights, up the escalator down the hallway past the dinosaur, down the escalator across the check in points, up the elevator, down the escalator, on the tram to the last tram stop, up the escalator, to our check in point, back through security, and up the escalator and down the half mile long hallway.... See why it was a little stressful?

Luckily they served dinner on the plane flight
 Cold Chicken and noodles!!

Don't feel too bad, I watched the new James Bond while I ate dinner!

After the 8+ hours on that plane we arrived at Denmark where no one was there to bring in the plane..... When Gabby and I got off the plane we booked it through the airport to arrive with, again, five minutes to spare.

But it was all worth it... We finally landed in Bergen and all we had to do was wait for the boat

And for once something came right on time.....

So now here I am in Rosendal

And this is my new corner for the next seven weeks.

What I learned as a child...

I almost died this morning!!!

Apparently, Bab's brakes don't work when their wet and just my luck it was pouring rain this morning.

Normally it wouldn't be that big of a deal because I go through the cemetery........ Just not when it's dark.... (Call me paranoid but who knows what kind of creepers hide out in the cemetery in the dark!)

So instead of going through the cemetery, I ride down the hill a little ways until you get to the sidewalk which is at a really weird angle.  So here I am peddling to work, I can't really see anything because the rain is pelting me in the face, a car is coming up the hill, and my brakes don't work!!

Luckily for me I have had experience with this!  As a child none of my bikes had brakes.  And most of the places I rode my bike consisted of fairly large hills.  So what did I learn to do..... Put my feet down!!  At one point, my friends and I thought we were genius's and we attached roller blades to our feet. Not only did you get to bike and roller blade at the same time (two of our most favorite things), but the roller blades had brakes on them.

I'm not going to lie though, braking with your feet caused a lot more accidents!  I don't think a week went by without one of us crashing.

So this morning I am blind, wet, and careening down the hill out of control, and luckily my childhood instincts kicked in. My feet shot out and slowed me down just enough to make the sidewalk!!

Happy news, Thanks to a childhood of brakeless bikes, I made it to work alive today!

Sad news, my shoes didn't make it :'(

Wanna See My Movie?!

At the end of August I ran in the Man vs Mud run.  I also talked my mom, my aunt Vickie, my cousin Kalon, and my friend Coley to run with me.  And at the last minute I talked Brian into it!!! To see some awesome pictures that my MIL took check out her post about it HERE.

For the race I borrowed my friends GoPro camera. This is the result..

Who wants to run with me next year?!
