Insanity Factor: 9 out of 10.

A week from Saturday I will be headed to Yosemite National Park to tackle Half Dome.  Fun facts about Half Dome, it’s 16.5 miles round trip. You gain 4,800 feet in elevation.  This is one hike you can’t die without doing, and the one you’re most likely to die while doing (sounds fun huh!?!) On a traditional 1-10 scale, this one rates and 11 and the insanity Factor is 9 out of 10 thanks to the cables at the end of the hike.

Luckily Brian knows there is know way I can drag my body up and down this mountain in one day. So we get to stay at Little Yosemite Valley.  This map shows our hike for Day 1.

Day one is all up hill, but don't worry so is day two. Which you can see in the picture below.

But don't be alarmed that is the easy part. This next picture depicts where the insanity factor comes in.  These are called the cables, and this is the part where you could potenially die.

It should be fun, and hopefully we make it back alive!!!

DONE!!!

 I have finished another semester of school!!! I  feel like I have been going to school for like elevenity billion years. But there is a little sunshine at the end of that tunnel......I only have two semesters left before I am all edamacated. =D


I don't know how I pulled it off but I didn't have one final this semester.  I had final projects and an "opportunity" but they were all due last week or the week before.  It feels really strange not being stressed and my body doesn't know how to respond. One minute I'm full of joy because I'm done and the next minute my body panics and decides that I need to be studying something because it's final week.

 So to celebrate no finals, (and to give me something to do at work) I have found some funny pictures on Pintrest......Enjoy!

Since I haven't posted for a while I decided to show you my website I made for my class. Brian helped me think of ideas, and if you couldn't tell I made this right in the middle of basketball season.

Potatoes. Lots and lots of potatoes.

Did I ever mention that Brian and I went to a bowl game?!?! The Potato Bowl in Boise Idaho to be exact.  It was super fun, but sad because we lost.

On the drive up to Boise almost every car we passed was sporting some sort of Aggie gear, Aggie license plate, Aggie sticker, Aggie flags. The people on the inside were decked out in Aggie gear and some of them would even give you the Scotsman hand gestures that looked a little bit like this....

 When we got there we went to the basketball stadium where the rumor was we would get free food!! And honestly what college student can pass up free food?!?!

The rumor was true and they fed us......

 

POTATOES!!!

 Brian was disgusting and put broccoli on his.... Gross..

 

 
After Brian filled up with broccoli and I filled up with cheese and bacon bits, we decided to walk around.  Good thing we did because we got to see the Worlds largest potato on wheels. Not everyone can claim they have seen that!

 Eventually we wandered in the stadium and found our seats. No vacation would be complete without proxy Peter there. This was his last escapade with us before he actually came home.

After the first kick off a dog ran onto the field. Everyone started freaking out until we realized that the dog was trained to retrieve the ball tee. This was probably the coolest part of the game. I think the dog got more cheers than the team did!  It did turn sad on one kickoff when a boy ran out to get the tee instead of the dog. Everyone started to boo the boy and shout "the dog is better." It was sad but the next kickoff the dog was back!

 By the time the game was over I was frozen stiff.  I couldn't feel my fingers or toes, and my legs were so frozen I couldn't bend them.  Luckily we parked in the closest parking lot so we didn't have very far to walk.

Sadly the game didn't end how we wanted it too. But that's OK. It was a fun season and I can't wait until April when the blue and white scrimmage is scheduled. Then it's only another 4 months until Aggie football is back!!!

Creeper

I kinda became a creeper yesterday.  I didn't mean for it to happen but after class I walked out of the HPER building full of energy.  My class had just played floor hockey and I ROCKED at it! I looked across the grassy area to the other side walk and I saw someone walking the same direction as me. I stared the person down for a while and they kept staring me down.  I just knew it was Brian. The person walked like Brian, had on Brian's new coat, and even had on a blue and white beanie. So I decided to call him to see what he was doing. He didn't answer. So I stared him down again and when he looked my direction I pointed at my phone like "hey I'm trying to call you pick up" but he just looked away.  How rude!!! "That's OK" I thought, "I'll cut him off at the cemetery"  I stared him down the whole time and when he would look at me I would point at him and he would keep looking away. Hmm that's strange he always points back... His head was down as we got to the same sidewalk.  I was about to say something like "Hey pig, why didn't you answer your phone?" (don't worry pig to us is a good thing!) when he looked up at me with big frightened eyes.

It wasn't Brian. It was some strange kid who I had been creeping on.  I could tell by his face he thought I was a crazy person, and that I was going to attack him and no one would ever hear from him again.  I decided things couldn't get much worse so as we passed through the gates of the cemetery together, I gave him the creepiest smile I could muster!

Bad Decisions

Have you ever made a bad decision and it has haunted you the rest of your life?!?!?! 

Well I made one of those decisions when I was 16.  I was young and impressionable and I was on a date with a Senior!!! Yes me, a measly sophomore was dating a senior! Somewhere along our date we ran into a group of his friends.  We were going to a movie and they were going to a movie so why didn't we go to the same movie?!?! *yeah*clapping of hands*weeping for joy*

Good News: We get to go to the movies with friends....
Bad News: They wanted to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre =S

I'm a wimp when it comes to scary movies. But I was hanging out with SENIORS, I couldn't say no. But I still had one thing working for me....my age.

Me: Oh that sounds like a fun movie to see, but sadly I'm not 18 so I can't get in....What a shame!!!

Friends: Oh that doesn't matter we know how to get around that.

Me: Huh..

Friends: Ya you buy the movie ticket for the other movie, and then you go to the bathroom. When you  come out you go into the other movie theater. They check your ticket when your first walk in, not when you go into the theater. Don't worry we've done it loads of times.....

My only line of defense was gone. So I went to Texas Chainsaw Massacre....



















Worst decision EVER!!! During the movie I was soooo scared. There was one part that I jumped so bad I almost landed in my dates lap. Then when he dropped me off at my house, I was walking to our front door and what was laying on our steps......Yup a chainsaw!!  My heart almost beat out of my chest and I started to run around my house to the other door.

I am constantly on the look out for Chainsaw Bob. Whenever I'm by myself and it's dark I just know that he is out there waiting for me.  I can't go to haunted corn mazes because anybody could walk into that corn with a chainsaw.  You hear a girl scream bloody murder and hear the roar of a chainsaw, most people think it's just part of the show. Not me....I feel bad that she's getting chopped up, but at least it gives me time to get away! And don't get me started on what kind of freaks hide out in haunted houses. 

Because of this movie I am constantly on the lookout for Chainsaw Bob, and one of my worst fears is that I will be driving along Sardine canyon and my car will break down right by the Midway Antiques Shop.

This is totally Chainsaw Bob's hideout!! It's in the perfect location middle of no where and people can't hear you scream! Notice how it's built almost into the hill behind it.  That's so Chainsaw Bob can take you into his underground/mountain tunnel system so no one will ever find you!! I try to drive by it as fast as I can, but not fast enough to get pulled over because of course the cops are in on it!


Just like in the movie.....

Pirates

It's the start of another semester and  I finally have started taking classes in the secondary education program. I've learned some interesting things but the most interesting thing so far has been when my teacher told us that kids are like pirates.

Teacher: Just so you guys know your students are gonna be like pirates!

Class: Huh? *confused looks*

Teacher: Ya....what do pirates like to do? Pirates like to mutiny that's what! And your students are going to mutiny. It's your job to keep them from doing that, and good luck with that! It's not easy when they all gang up against you.  *under his breath* Little hellians!

Class: LOL's *looking around at each other to see if we really just heard our teacher right.*













Sounds like I better get a parrot and an eye patch!
