Winter is upon us!

Hehehe let me just laugh a minute about our winter storm. Hehehe......

"SAN DIEGO - A strong winter storm drenched San Diego County Monday morning, but the main front is not expected to hit the region until this afternoon.
The wet weather immediately affected local traffic, with the California Highway Patrol logging 100 incident reports between midnight and 9 a.m. On a dry day, the CHP typically records between 50 and 75 incident reports in the county during a 24-hour period, according to the agency.
Thirty-three of Monday's highway incidents were reported between 8 and 9 a.m. and 24 were reported between 7 and 8 a.m., according to the CHP."

Little side note to the above paragraph......I was in the traffic jam that those accidents caused....not fun. A normally 15-20 minute drive took me over an hour to get to work...AND I even left early! Oh ya and the 'wet' weather were getting, it's just rain. But moving on to the "Winter" weather report (this next part is my favorite)....

"Temperatures Monday were expected to peak in the high 50s to low 60s."

Doesn't that sentance just fill your soul with happiness? I know it did mine. And even though it is in the 50s I'm wearing my mid-calf white furry boots, my scarf, and my polka dot coat! Brian accused me of being "one of them"

Thanksgiving

It was really weird not being home for Thanksgiving, but I didn't mind all that much when I was laying out at the beach in the almost 80 degree weather. The breeze was a little chilly but Brian made me a little "heat cave" with a beach umbrella and our bags and it blocked out the wind and it was all nice and toasty! After a little bit we decided to go test out the water, not gonna lie it was a little chilly and the sea was kind of angry. I can't even count the number of times it almost tipped me over cuz the waves were pretty strong and I was only in up to my knees! We found a spot that had tons of little seashells but the waves would come crashing in and it would be all muddy and then  right before the water got sucked out again it would be clear enough to see but you only had a couple seconds to find a seashell and grab it before it got sucked up by the water. Brian even found a sand dollar which was probably the kewlest find of the day. After I got drenched, and stabbed by a seashell in the foot we called it quits. We weren't quite ready
to leave yet so we decided to go walk around the Crystal pier. This pier is pritty awesome because there are little houses on them and you can sleep on the pier.

Like my new ankle bracelet? Got it straight from the sea!

Thanksgiving dinner on the other hand didn't turn out as I had hoped. Brian and I had just decided on doing steaks and he found a receipe for the slow cooker that he wanted to try. It consisted of ketchup and brown sugar. I thought it was disgusting and ended up eating a bowl of cereal. Brian acutlaly didn't mind his that much and ate all of his.

Thanksgiving Dinner Grape juice, rolls, steak, potatos, and carrots (YUCK!!)

Hope everybody else had an awesome Thanksgiving!!!

Mom Time

The week before Thanksgiving my mom made the trip down to get some sunshine, and of course to see her favorite daughter! It was really fun to have her here but it went by way to fast!

Friday  night we went to the San Diego temple and went through a session. Oh my gosh....gorgeous!!! I have only been in three temples but so far San Diego is at the top of my list. On Saturday,  Brian decided it would be best if he stayed home to get some HW done, so my mom an I  went to La Jolla and walked around the cove. It wasn't a long enough walk for her so we decided to keep walking to Scripps Pier. When we got to the beach we took our shoes off and walked in the water which was a little chilly but felt good after you got used to it.  We weren't in a real hurry so we decided to head back to the car and drive along the coast and we ended up at Pacific Beach and got out to walk around a little more. While we were there we ended up running into the 3-day walkers. You could tell some of the walkers were hurting. I was hurting and I had only walked 5 miles but the walkers were on day two and mile 17. The walkers have three days of 20 miles each to equal a total of 60 miles. At one point on the boardwalk these ladies were dressed a little skankily and they had a boom box and were Dancing and cheering on the walkers. The lady in the red dress was the funniest because anytime a guy would go by she had to either dance with him or give him a hug and then give his bum a little squeeze or a pat for good luck.

These boys were a big hit!

After all of this excitement we decided to head back home to get ready for dinner at Anthony's, which was delish (I had a bowl of plain pasta!) The next day was Sunday and  my mom put in a roast to show Brian how one was really suppose to taste! (I had a mishap with a roast a couple weeks earlier! we just call it the garlic roast now). After church we relaxed for a bit, and then went to the Ocean beach pier to watch the sunset.

Sadly my mom had to leave on Monday but not before we made a trip to the pool to layout in the sun!

Beauty School Dropout

By the time November rolled around Brian was in need of a haircut!!! He wanted me to do it, but there were two really big issues I had with this...
1) My eyes are crooked (ask any of my friends or just come to my apartment and see the pictures I've hung on the wall....they look straight to me but apperently they are all crooked). Since my eyes are crooked I can't do layers or make the hair look even, and Brian wanted layers.

2) I never went to Beauty school........nuff said.

These issues meant little to Brian so for one of his Birthday gifts he got a shaver. Immediatly after opening it he decided it was time to put me to work. I have to admit it didn't turn out all that bad! The hair on the right side of his head might have been cut a little shorter than on the left (he made me use the scissors!) and his bags looked a little funny, but he decided with a little bit of hair gel all would be well!

Stephen, my bum friend

So Tuesday night at work I had a bum come into my store. His name was Stephen and he reeked to high heavens but was super nice. He said he needed a phone charger for his phone because he had just lost his. So after looking around for a bit I found one and plugged his phone in to let it charge for a little bit. He wanted to buy it but he only had 5 dollars on him.  After a  minute of thinking he told me he had found another charger today but had thrown it away and he would be right back. After about 15 minutes he came back but told me he had no luck in finding the charger in any of the dumpsters he looked in. He then took his phone and left.

The next day at work I was telling Michelle, (the other girl that works here) about my encounter with Stephen. Well not even 10 minutes later guess who comes shuffling back in... Stephen!!! He stopped in front of the counter an pulled out  a garbage sack he keeps in his shirt, and pulled out a pair of bikers glasses. He pushed them across the counter and said they were for me so when I bike I won't get bugs in my eyes. He asked if he could plug in his phone for a little bit more, and then we chatted about his psychic girlfriend. I offered him one of my sandwhiches, but he turned it down and said he was on a diet and he picked his own food. He than thanked me and gathered up his stuff and left the store. I haven't seen him since, which my nose is greatful for but at least I know if ever I end up a bum I will at least have one friend who can show me the ropes.

Geezer Bandit

So I have lots to say, but for today I'm only going to tell about the Geezer Bandit. I was watching the news and they showed a bank on TV and I recognized it because it's the same exact bank I go to for AT&T in the mornings. Here's the story.....

SAN DIEGO - An elderly bank robber knocked over his fifth bank in less than three months Monday, law enforcement officials said.
The robber, dubbed the "Geezer Bandit" by local FBI agents, hit the Bank of America at 7680 Girard Ave in La Jolla just before 6 p.m. The man, thought to be in his 70s, displayed a gun and demanded money from a teller. He left the bank on foot with an unspecified amount of cash, investigators said.
Three different rewards, totaling $16,000 are being offered for information leading the arrest and conviction of the robber.
According to the FBI, he is responsible for robbing four other San Diego County banks:
U.S Bank at 9643 Mission Gorge Road, Santee on Aug. 28,
San Diego National Bank at 7877 Ivanhoe in San Diego on Sept. 12,
U.S. Bank at 4627 Carmel Mountain Road in San Diego on Oct. 9,
and Bank of America at 17008 Avenida de Acacias in Rancho Sante Fe on Oct. 26.
The robber is described as a white man in his 70s, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall. He is thin with gray hair. Because he has used a gun, he should be considered armed and dangerous, agents said.

Football Frenzy

A couple weekends ago Brians dad and uncle and his two boys came down to visit. Well maybe I should rephrase that..... they came down to watch football and us living here was just an extra perk!! Since they drove the truck down, they brought us gifts!!! We finally have chairs for our table so we don't have to eat dinner on the floor anymore. Also, I did a little couch hunting before they came down and found a couch for $79!!!! I didn't realize how nice a couch really is until we got it home and I sat down on it and they almost had to pry me off of it. It's not the nicest or best looking, but it fits the rest of the apartment I guess.... Random!

Also, my MIL must be a mind reader because I was a little sad that I didn't have any decorations for halloween. Well along with all of our other goodies, we a got a package that contained some decorations.

It was better then christmas!!!

While the family was down here, we went to the BYU vs SDSU game. I will admit I didn't think it would be very exciting because I figured BYU was gonna slaughter SDSU, but lucky for us SDSU showed up and put up a good fight!!

Now this guy was the best entertainment of the game!!! And sadly the video won't upload, so I might have to try it again, but you will have to just do with pictures. Everytime SDSU scored he would do seven cartwheels and do the splits. ( And yes I'm talking about the guy with the construction hat on and the jersey)

The next football game we attended was the Chargers vs the Broncos. It was my first time attending an NFL game, and I loved every second of it! I almost liked watching the fans more than I did the game because some people are just ridiculous!

Before the game started

The Chargers

End of the game

Sadly the chargers lost, but we still had a fun time.
All in all it was a great weekend!!

So I've been in California for a whole month now! Except for the freakishly long red lights, and the crazy people who think they can drive cars around, it hasn't been too bad! Everyone at home is complaining about the snow and the 40 degree weather, while I'm trying to decide which flip-flops go the best with my shorts. It's awesome.

While I've been down here, Brian and I have tried to do some exploring on the weekends. So far we have made it to the Ocean Beach Pier, next time we need to take our fishing poles!

Point Loma, where Brian almost died from sea slime

And La Jolla

Last weekend my mom and my neices got to fly down to see me. Some of the things we got to do were go to Seaworld, play at the beach, and walk around the Wild Animal Park.

I'd say that makes for a pretty good month!

Parties, Parties, and More Parties

The end of summer is always a sad time for me! I am a summer girl. The only good thing about the end of summer is all the parties that happen. First party of the ending summer was a work party for Cisco's. And no end of summer at Cisco's would be complete without a picture of all our shoe tanlines that we worked so hard to get.

The crew of Cisco's. (Coley and Cassidy are missing though)

The second party wasn't really a party just more a family get together of sorts. My Uncle Bobby was on his way to Idaho to pick up one of his sons so he came up to Bear Lake for the day to hang out. We went on the waverunners, and then exchanged them for one of the boats. That night we went down and slept on the beach.

My mom and Aunt Vickie.

Trying to get warm in Cisco's. Can't tell were related can  ya?

The next party we had was for my birthday. We up to my Aunt Linda's and Uncle Hardy's house. We had hamburgers, and hotdogs, and my favorite salad ever.....candy bar salad! I didn't get my favorite food homemade noodles, but I did get my raspberry cobbler for my cake. It was nice just hanging around the fire with my family.

The last party I attended was with most of my girl friends from highschool. It was fun seeing everyone and we figured we better get one last get together in before Sylvia went on her mission and I left for California.

Sharele and me. She's the reason why I like pink and I'm a little more girly. I'm the reason she started licking her fingers after she eats messy foods.

I'm gonna miss these girls!

Baby Hunter

Before I left my sister-in-law had her baby. They named him Hunter Orson Cornia. I have to admit he was a cute little guy. Usually babies look all deformed and alien like, but Hunter had the cutest little cubby baby cheeks that no grandma can resist pinching.

The big sisters just LOVE to squeeze him and give him hugs and kisses.

Proud Grandma of 5 grandkids!!

Just glad his not mine, so when he starts to cry I can give him back to his parents! lol

Way Behind!

Wow... it's been awhile. So lots has happened since my last post here's a little overview to catch ya up.

  • Biggest news of all...... I'M FINALLY MARRIED!!! WOOT!!!
  • Went to San Diego on my honeymoon and I can find my way to the grocery store, Brian's school, and the most important...the beach! Finding my way back to the apartment is a totally different story though.
  • Watched a car sink into the marina.
  • Got evacuated from work because of a gas leak.
  • Moved half of my belongings and most of Brians belongings to San Diego.
  • It's been 11 days since I last saw Brian and I only have 14 more days till I see him again.
  • And last but not least and possibly the saddest news of all......Summer is over! :'(

Summer Fun

I'm sooooo glad the 4th of July is over with! It wasn't as crazy as some years, but it was crazy enough. Luckily, nothing too horrible happened, and all of us at Cisco's survived another holiday so we decided to celebrate by taking Big Red out and having some fun. The water was too choppy to do any serious wakeboarding so we decided to tube instead. I have decided that most times when you fall off, it all depends on who you go tubing with, not who the driver is. (How many times you skid across the water is of course the drivers fault!!) If you are with someone who is not falling off no way no how, your chances are pretty good of staying on the tube for a while. If the person you are with has a death wish and is crazy.... I'm sorry but you will probably end up falling off head first tangled up with the other person. Luckily the water wasn't that bad. Once you got numb the water felt really good! Hopefully we can go again soon!

Natalie and Me hanging on for dear life.. (she's the person you want to go with if you don't want to fall off! Except she screams alot so I was laughing so hard I almost fell off anyway)

Zack and Coley right before Zack tried to jump the wake and then he pushed her off the tube! (He is one of those people that if you go with them, you will be going in the water ALOT!!!)

Tauni and Dillon, Gotta love the farmers tan!!

Natalie begging Zack to please drive the boat nice, and Cassidy knowing her brother is going to dump them the first chance he gets!!

So far this year, the lake has been cold and it has rained a lot. But today we got a little break and there was a moment where the sun decided to come out from behind the clouds. Dilly and I decided that this would be a perfect moment to feed the fish. If you put bread between your toes they will come suck it out.

So if you're ever around the area, come on down to Cisco's and see if your brave enough to let the fish suck on your toes!
